    The Vebron

    International Film Festival

    is ...

The Vebron Film Festival emanates from a simple idea: to create a cultural event around cinema within a small village and its inhabitants, in order to make numerous and varied cinematographic works accessible to audiences that are themselves varied. The atmosphere is warm; far from rhinestones and glitter.  The personalities present make themselves available and completely accessible. Cinematic quality without its artifices...

In a few lines and to make a long story short it is...

    • An official competition, with more than 12 hours of film screenings from around the world, where amateurs mingle.
    • and professionals, in all genres: fictions, documentaries, clips, reports, animations, school or workshop films etc...
    • Big movie nights, some of them in the open air, followed by conferences and debates.
    • A plethora of educational or recreational activities, video courses, various workshops and exhibitions for all tastes and ages.
    • Also, the Festival store, as well as a restaurant area open to all for lunch and dinner.
    • Festive evenings with musical entertainment.
    • 5 festival days always marked by quality, originality, conviviality, rich in encounters and friendships.

Always an artist, an actor, a director on the corner of a street with whom to have a drink or taste a Cévennes speciality!

A privileged place for meetings and exchanges,

a Festival for the general public from 7 to 97 years old...

To promote film culture in rural areas

The Lozerian association, l'Ecran Cévenol, organizes every year

the Vebron International Film Festival since 1988.

Sponsored since the beginning by the actress Bernadette LAFONT, this cultural event, the oldest in the department of Lozere, has been promoting for more than 29 years, the talent of filmmakers through a competition of short films open to all amateur and professional videographers.

Our ambition is to propose each year a diversity of cinematographic works, a launching pad for young directors and a "scouts" of new talents.

This initiative contributes to the development of film programming in rural areas and participates in local dynamics.

Actor in the field of distribution and creation, the Vébron Festival also aims to be a platform for meetings, projects and collaborations between professionals and amateurs.

The Ecran Cévenol defends and promotes this cultural project in order to modernize it, within a territory resolutely turned towards the future, and with the desire to express a "living rurality".

At a time when culture is no longer really at the center of concerns, we must fight to bring to life what we have been working for for nearly 30 years.

In advance, thank you all for your support!
